I was really impressed by the outfit worn by this fashion blogger in Milan. She managed to mix together two of the main SS 2017 trends in her look, combining floral pieces with multicolor stripes and a dash of bravery. This girl wears a Missoni metallic-striped crochet-knit maxi dress paired with a denim jacket and a flowery wood handle clutch. The result is gorgeous, don’t you think?

Every person who has watched The Devil Wears Prada recalls Miranda Priestley’s famous line: "Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking", but this season it looks like they really are! Forget pretty, ditsy print and expect a full blooming, literally. Designers such as Prada, Erdem, Balenciaga, and Chloè opted for bold floral prints head-to-toe, shoes included. The S/S 17 version of this trend blooms up and down long skirts, ruffled jumpsuits and even handbags, like the one in the picture. If wearing a head-to-toe floral outfit sounds a little risky, you can pick out one item to instantly get a perfect look-at-me effect. Are you ready to dust off your floral pieces?

When Coco Chanel introduced striped in her collection in the 20s, she drew inspiration from the French navy uniforms to design a striped top to be worn with flared trousers. The new casual style helped break with the heavily corseted fashion of the time, changing the face of womenswear.

Since then, the Breton striped shirt has become a staple of every woman’s wardrobe, thanks to its versatility and the chic minimalist attitude.

In the 60s, Missoni’s family decided to create striped prints, adding a fresh spin to the traditional, sober Breton shirts: bold, wild multicolor bands or striped patterns invaded the runways and became the trademark of this brand. Missoni stripes started a new, revolutionary fashion trend which keeps coming back over the years. This spring, stripes are literally everywhere: from the red carpet where we saw rainbow-striped gowns renovating the traditional Hollywood evening wear, to the S/S 17 runways, where bold and brilliantly textured stripes reflect all the shades of the rainbow.

Stripes are easy to wear and you can easily combine them with the denim items you already own, like the blogger in this picture. They definitely deserve a space in your wardrobe.
